Tell us about your sci-fi web series.

Sifting Realities is a more-is-going-on-than-meets-the-eye, episodic, sci-fi (as in weird stuff keeps happening) web series in which the lead character, Belinda, who bakes for a living, keeps finding herself drawn into different realities and, naturally, thinks she is going crazy... but is she?

Where did the idea/concept for your web series come from?

I wanted to work on something episodic, specifically conceived for the web, as I had not created for that arena before, and as low budget as possible. Hence each episode is currently set and filmed in a different room of my own home. Also I bake, a lot, so I thought it would be fun to build the show around a character that bakes for a living and maybe add an interactive component to the series. If I tell you more than that, I'll give too much away!

Name some of your sci-fi influences. Any favorite movies, TV shows, novels?

I am a pretty big sci-fi fan and grew up watching Star Wars and Star Trek, of course. Am a HUGE Buffy fan and am currently collecting season 8 in comic book form. Speaking of comics I have a rather large X-Men collection I started in the early 90's and more recently am really enjoying Walking Dead (among the ten other titles I actively collect). As for TV I have watched and enjoyed of all the usual suspects (X-Files, Twilight Zone, etc) and am currently very much enjoying Fringe and True Blood (have also read all the novels, of course).

Tell us about the technical production of your show. What camera & equipment did you use? Editing software & hardware? For visual effects, etc?

We are shooting on the Canon HF 10s, which is tiny, but has quite a good picture as long as you don't ask it to work too hard. We are cutting with Final Cut Studio (titles are done in Motion) and Pro Tools.

Can you tell us any interesting facts or trivia about your show? Any funny stories?

There is a bunch of sort of secret story things I could tell you, but that would ruin the suspense! Carmen, who plays Belinda, eats a LOT of cookies each episode, but you never hear her complain about it!
